Griot Grounds

:: workshops on the ancient art of storytelling ::

My vision was a bunch of a certain type of people coming together to talk about life, people (here and no longer), the strategy + soulwork of entrepreneurship, energy, heartbreak, love, goals, money, and…life.

Type of people I’m talking about:

  • Writers and non-writers
  • Women, men, and teenagers
  • Artists + teachers + healers
  • Full-time, part-time, and aspiring entrepreneurs
  • Active community members (online + in their city)
  • Believers in spiritual liberation, personal power, and universal laws

We come together to accomplish what’ll make our lives, and the work we do in it, feel better.

Digging into topics like ::

  • Reaching that next level (whatever that means for you)
  • Figuring out how to take that same effect you have on people while you’re talking to them and apply it to what you write and they read
  • Learning how to write about people and your intentions for doing so are super clear through your writing
  • Releasing unhealthy relationships
  • See what worked for me over and over and over after I realized how (easily) I could still access Mama Jessie’s comfort and wisdom although she’d passed, my deceased stepfather’s opinion on something, more money with the passion of Zora to keep making it and the discipline of Madam C.J. to manage it

You know those dyfunctional relationships, rights? The ones you know damn well you need to let go of, but can’t. There’s something there that you’re depending on. Maybe you need to feel needed or you don’t want to be yet another person to let them down or the history is so long and deep or. A man, a woman, a friend, cousin, or maybe it’s your mama.

But you’re ready to let it go because it’s unhealthy. Something in the seat of your soul is telling you that you’ll never experience the peace and spiritual breakthrough that you’re after until you let this person or situation go.

That’s what we’re writing about and releasing in this workshop: breaking those unhealthy soul ties. You should join us.

The morning after, I sat and wrote freely. I wrote what was on my mind at the time. It felt like a weight was lifted off me as I jotted down things. It felt really good. Thank you.
